ENGINE - DIESEL ENGINE OIL

Oil level check Always check oil level and drain oil with vehicle standing on level ground and use engine oil to correct specification for topping up and refilling. See: INFORMATION, Capacities, fluids and lubricants.

Drain The oil should be drained when engine is warm. The oil filter can be renewed while oil is being drained. WARNING: Observe due care when draining oil as the oil can be very hot. Prolonged and repeated contact with used engine oil may cause serious skin disorders, wash thoroughly after contact. Keep out of reach of children. 1. Place a container beneath engine sump.

| 1. Withdraw dipstick
and wipe blade. Re-insert dipstick fully, withdraw it and check oil level which must be maintained between: ’MIN’ and ’MAX’ marks on dipstick. 2. If required, remove engine acoustic cover, remove filler cap and top-up with NEW engine oil to correct specification. See: INFORMATION, Capacities, fluids and lubricants.

2. Remove drain plug
and discard sealing washer. Allow oil to drain. Refill 1. Clean drain plug, fit NEW sealing washer and tighten drain plug to 55 Nm. 2. Remove oil filler cap, refill engine with oil to correct specification. See INFORMATION, Capacities, fluids and lubricants. 3. Fit oil filler cap.
