Rover 825SD 800 Coupe 825i SD1 and Land Rover Web Site

It is possible to remove the wings without removing the bumper (just!). But it would be almost impossible to fit the new ones so bumper, headlights side lamps must come off. Remove side indicator lights, these have a spring fitting with a loop to put your finger in and pull the lamp slides out forwards. Exposed now are  the the two small self-tapping screws one in the side of each head lamp, remove these. You might want to use a marker pen to draw around the headlamp fixings to aid putting them back afterwards. Unplug the cables. Then remove the two large self-tapping screws each side at the top, the unit should then be unclipped from the bottom mounting by gently lifting it.

Once the headlamps are removed the bumper fixing bolts are accessible, L.H. side shown.

Undo the self tapping screws that hold the plastic wheel arch liners to the lower bumper edge on each side.

An assistant is useful now. Remove the four bumper bolts (2 each side)

And the two bottom bolts that secure the bonnet lock (circled).

The bumper can be drawn off forwards, take note of any spacers that are used and where they go, watch out for the plastic clips each side that secures the end of the bumper to the wings/car.

The wings are held on with these 10mm bolts, four on the top inside the engine bay.

Two on the doorpost, one at top, one at the bottom one at the bottom of the wing to the sill.

This one accessible through the hole using a 1/4" extension and socket.

Undo the side indicator repeater lamps and carefully lift the old wing away. Things should now look something like this.
