Rover 825SD 800 Coupe 825i SD1 and Land Rover Web Site

2litre MPI posing on the hills above Port Erin Isle of Man on the southern tip of the island.

But for a little gentle of roading we had a run up to the very northern most part of the IOM.

There was a time when it was possible to drive several miles along the coast here, lately because of environmental reasons most of it is now fenced off. There is still about a mile that is drivable - enough to enjoy!

I took our 2.0 mpi Discovery along with a friend of mine who has a 2.2 RS petrol Frontera.

The area is sand dunes and a stony foreshore the smooth stones are very easy to get stuck in, if you venture onto these you should have at least two vehicles equipped with winches or very long ropes. The sand is more fun although I managed to get stuck in some deep ruts!

Mrs & co had a good laugh but with a bit of digging and I drove out ok.

On the way home I detoured via some forestry tracks that are open to drive on.

Crossing those ruts was interesting - about 2 ft (600mm) deep.
