To remove the air filter element lift up the 4 securing clips and lift off the lid

A dirty air filter will reduce performance and economy so it is worth changing when it gets dirty like this (it was actually much blacker than it looks in the photo). Dirty air filter is a good way to fail the MOT emission test too.

Out with the old and in goes the new filter, it is a good time to check the induction air hoses for loose worm-drive clips or splits in the rubber
